On Thursday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided a number of residences as it broadened its probe into a shooting in Washington that happened on the previous day, leaving one national guard member dead and another in grave state.
Suspect's History and Residence Raided
The search involved a residence in Washington state associated with the accused, Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who authorities stated was part of a CIA-supported force in the Afghan theater before entering the America in the year 2021 under a relocation scheme.
Federal agents confiscated multiple tech equipment from the home, such as cellphones, portable computers, and tablets, and interviewed his family members, the Bureau's chief Kash Patel told a media update.
Guard Member Soldier Beckstrom Succumbs After Attack
Subsequently on Thursday, Donald Trump announced that Sarah Beckstrom, one of the national guard troops attacked in the capital, had succumbed to her injuries.
She, twenty years old, was one of a pair of the national guard attacked; the other member, Andrew Wolfe, 24 years old, is still in critical condition, as stated by the president.

The suspect, identified as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, twenty-nine, arrived in the America in the fall of 2021 under an Operation Allies Welcome that gave certain Afghan nationals who had been employed by the United States immigration documents to the US.
