This young athlete maintains impressive online following
The young golfer can count on numerous well-known cheerleaders when she begins her professional golf debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be the granddaughter of a former US president, was granted a special exemption to play at the Annika competition in Florida.
The former president, someone who loves golf, operates numerous courses worldwide and often matches against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I can't reveal details but we play some close matches," she mentioned.
Kai explained that her grandfather, who won't be present, advised her: "Simply don't get nervous."
"He practically advised me to play and have fun," she explained.
"To me, he's simply a normal grandpa. He can't make it this weekend. He's occupied with running the country, so he's rather occupied."
While still amateur, Kai has participated in a mere three competitions recently and holds the 461st position in AJGA standings.
Yet she can receive tips from golf legend, who is dating Kai's mother.
"He represents the greatest golfer in the world," Kai expressed.
"And he's a superior individual. He advised me to go out there, enjoy myself, following the flow."
She'll challenge multiple the biggest names in professional golf at this tournament, such as world number two Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
The LPGA stated that Kai's presence exposes golf to new audiences, especially reaching younger fans.
The social media influencer has a massive following and recently launched an exclusive fashion and living label.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
