Around 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast woke up experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events swept through the region, bringing strong winds reaching 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Hailstones and Extensive Damage
Locals observed giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities confirmed that different parts across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

State Emergency Services responded to nearly 600 calls for help across the state, primarily for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

Tuesday was forecast to be the wettest day, with persistent thunderstorm potential anticipated across various areas of both regions.

Public health experts cautioned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the current weather patterns.
