The Chelsea star emulated his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, emerging as the 21st pair of siblings to be selected for the national team.

The Chelsea defender is set to be added to the Three Lions selection to cover for injured Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old is scheduled to meet up with the team for England's final World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania, although it has still not been confirmed.

The national side have already secured qualification for the upcoming tournament.

Chalobah received his first selection under England manager Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then played his first game against the Senegalese team.

In the month of September, Tuchel remarked Chalobah was unfortunate to be left out from the team for qualifying games against Serbia and Andorra, and additionally omitted him for the following October international break.

Tuchel has been an important figure in Chalobah's progress, having handed him his Chelsea debut in the year 2021.

Chalobah has featured in almost every fixtures for Chelsea this season, with the team third in the Premier League, in the Carabao Cup last eight and in the league phase of the Champions League.

Guehi suffered a foot problem in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League success over the Dutch side recently.

There are expected to be other inclusions to the selection. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has announced that both attacker Anthony Gordon (hip) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (a concussion) are set to pull out from the England setup.
